PhD candidate at The Ohio State University
I am a PhD candidate (ABD) at the Department of Political Science (International Relations and Political Psychology) at The Ohio State University.
My research centers on the role of time in International Relations—in particular, how possible futures are constructed and contested by political actors. My dissertation project investigates future-making within peace processes, including through the cases of Bosnia and Northern Ireland. I argue that peace agreements and peace processes vary according to how they construct the future to be shared by former combatants; some futures are characterized by flexibility, whereas others are comparatively rigid. This variance affects the ability of the peace process to accommodate future change and manage communities’ confidence in the peace process.
